International Conference on Mechanics and PDEs
- On the occasion of Marshall Slemrod's 60th Birthday

Purpose:
An International Conference on Mechanics and PDEs will be held in Madison, Wisconsin from April 30-May 2, 2004, to celebrate the 60th Birthday of Professor Marshall Slemrod. The goal of this workshop is to bring in top applied mathematicians and promising young researchers in the area of mechanics and nonlinear PDEs to discuss the most recent advances in this area, and to foster interactions between senior researchers and young participants. Former students and colleagues of Marshall are also welcome to join us in this happy occasion.

This conference is supported in part by the Institute for Mathematics
and its Application (IMA) through its Participating Institution (PI)
Program. PI members may use IMA/PI funds to support travel of their
personnel to this conference.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Friedrick Center
(1950 Willow Drive, Madison WI 53706). These rooms will be held until
April 1, 2004 . The participants should make their own
reservations by directly calling (608)231-1341. Please mention the name
of the conference when making the reservation.
