Dima Arinkin

Most of my research is motivated by the geometric Langlands conjecture. I believe that my results are valuable by themselves, but the Langlands philosophy provides a unifying point of view on my work. Currently, I am working on the following two projects. The first project concerns a new formulation of the categorical Langlands conjecture, which removes the contradictions that plague the ‘naive’ statement. The formulation requires new geometric methods that should be of independent interest. The second project concerns autoduality of compactified Jacobians for curves with plane singularities. In the geometric Langlands program, the compactified Jacobians appear as the fibers of the Hitchin fibration for the group GL(n), and such autoduality can be viewed as a limit case of the Langlands conjecture for this group. I am also interested in the generalization of these ideas the Hitchin fibration.
