Wallace J. Hilliard Fund

The Wallace J. Hilliard Fund is an endowment established by the Hilliard Family Foundation in Green Bay, Wisconsin to support undergraduate students in the Wisconsin Emerging Scholars Program (WES). Wallace J. Hilliard is a UW-Madison alumnus. In addition to paying for student assistants in WES, the fund has also been used to send WES students and Student Assistants to the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) annual National Conference. The aim of this conference is to encourage minority undergraduate students to pursue a PhD in science, mathematics, or engineering. The fund has also been used to support undergraduates to attend the annual Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics.

The Hilliard Fund also supports the WES mentoring program at Lincoln Elementary School on Madison's south side; this program will be expanded in 2006 to include Wright Middle School.
