Opportunities for Minority Applicants to the PhD Program

The Mathematics Department welcomes applications from traditionally underrepresented groups to the PhD Program in Mathematics. Special awards and opportunities are available for talented minority applicants, to provide financial support without teaching duties and to offer additional academic preparation to meet the challenges of the PhD program.

• Advanced Opportunity Fellowships
• VIGRE Fellowships
• Summer Enhancement Programs with financial support for beginning graduate students

Prospective graduate students need not specifically apply for any of these fellowships. The Graduate Admissions Committee of the Mathematics Department will automatically consider every qualified applicant for these awards.
