Graduate Fellowships for Women Entering the PhD Program

Thanks to a variety of sources which provide opportunities for women in science, the Department of Mathematics will award a number of Fellowships to the strongest women applicants. We have three categories of Fellowships available to women at the start of their graduate career in mathematics at UW Madison.

Prospective graduate students do not need to specifically apply for any of these fellowships. The Graduate Admissions Committee will automatically consider every qualified female applicant for these awards:

• Hirschfelder Fellowship
• University of Wisconsin Fellowships for Women in Mathematics
• NSF VIGRE Fellowships (open only to United States citizens and residents)
