Math 095: Fundamental Mathematical Skills

This course will not be offered in the future.  Starting with the Fall 2017 semester a new course will be introduced: Math 96 - Preparatory Algebra. This course will replace Math 95 and Math 101 and cover the material contained in those courses. 
 
 
Student Body: 

Intended for students fulfilling the remediation requirements in mathematics.

Background and Goals: 

Math 95 covers the fundamental mathematics necessary both as survival skills in daily life and as tool for success in college. Includes arithmetic procedures and their applications. Intended for students fulfilling the remediation requirements in mathematics.

Alternatives:

Subsequent Courses: 

the course prepares the student for Math 101.

  • Whole numbers
  • Integers and algebraic expressions
  • Solving equations
  • Fractions and mixed numbers
  • Decimals
  • Ratio and proportion
  • Percents
  • Measurement and geometry
  • Graph and statistics
  • Exponents and polynomials
