Math 138: Mathematics for Teaching: Conjecture, Generalization, and Proof

Background and Goals: 

This course explores the roles of conjecture, generalization, and proof in effective teaching of mathematics. Students explore mathematical reasoning as an iterative process of conjecturing, generalizing and investigating. Topics are drawn from counting, probability, statistics, arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
