Math 570: Fundamentals of Set Theory

Set theoretical paradoxes and means of avoiding them, axiomatics of Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory, relations and functions, construction of the natural numbers and real numbers in the axiomatic system of set theory, cardinal numbers, cardinal arithmetic, the axiom of choice, orders and the replacement axiom, ordinal numbers, equivalents to the axiom of choice including Zorn's lemma and the well ordering principle, definitions and proofs via transfinite recursion and induction, ordinal arithmetic, cofinality
