Sigurd Angenent


My research currently focusses on heat and diffusion equations in differential geometry. Curve Shortening is the simplest nontrivial example of such an equation (the video shows an example of a solution of Curve Shortening). Other examples include Mean Curvature Flow and Ricci Flow.

My other current research interest is in applications of mathematics to biology.


In Spring 2017 I will be teaching math 521, Real Analysis (I)

In Fall 2017 I will teach math 234, several variable calculus.
