Grade calculation worksheet

Grades: The two midterm exams count for 25% each, the final counts for 30%. The homeworks (discussion and webbased) and/or quizzes which your TA grades will count for 20%

To estimate the grade you will get in this course use the following formula

End of semester score = 0.25*(M1 + X + M2) + 0.3* Fi + 0.2 * Di Here

M1 =	your score on the 1st midterm
X =	your extra credit score (up to 10 points) for the 1st midterm
M2 =	your score on the 2nd midterm
Fi =	your score on the Final exam
Di =	your score in your discussion section

This computation (in which you know M1 and X, but have to guess M2, Fi and Di) will lead to a number. Based on that number the TAs and I will assign a letter grade ROUGHLY according to the following scheme

A : 85…100
B : 70…85
C : 60…70
D : 50…60
F : 0…50
