Study guide for the second midterm.
The second midterm will have five problems, one from each of the
following categories (the problems refer to representative
practice problems in the notes.)

Find the derivative of any function involving square and other
roots, trig functions (sine, cosine, tangent), inverse trig
functions (arcsin and arctan), exponential functions
(e…) and (natural) logarithms.
No practice problems, but you should be able to find all first and
second derivatives in the graph sketching problmes (see below.)

Implicit Differentiation.

Related rates of change. Problems: 29.5…29.13

Graph sketching. Problems: 40.5, 40.6, 40.7, 49.1, 49.2, 49.6

Optimization.
Problems: 41.1…41.13
There will be no specific question about exponential functions or
logarithms, but they will be on the exam in the functions which you are
asked to differentiate, optimize, or whose graph you will be asked to
sketch.
