Grades.

On each exam and in the discussion section you can earn a certain number of points. At the end of the semester these points are added to form your total score. Your letter grade is then based on this total score.

Both midterms and the discussion section as a whole are worth 110 points. The final exam is worth 170 points, so the maximal score is 3x110+170=500 points. A tentative “curve” which will be used to determine the letter grade is as follows:

A:425–500, B:350–425, C:300–350, D:250–300, F:0–250

This “curve” is only an approximation, and may be changed if the instructor considers this necessary.
