Text Book: Elementary Applied Partial Differential Equations,
4th ed., by Richard Haberman.
Syllabus: We cover parts of the following chapters of text book:
Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.
Homework: will be assigned each week on Tuesday lecture, and
collected on Thursday lecture of the following week.
Exams:
There will be two in class midterm exams and
cumulative final. "Make-up exams" cannot be given
except in the most unusual circumstances. The student seeking a make-up
exam should discuss with the instructor in advance and get the approval
before the exam.
Programmable calculators are not allowed on
the exams.
Approximate dates of midterm exams:
Tu, Feb. 26, in class.
Tu, April 15, in class.
Final exam:
07:45 A.M. MON. MAY 12
Grading:
The final grade will be determined by
two in class midterm exams (100 points each), the final exam
(200 points) and homework (100 points).
Thus the maximum number of
points you can earn is 500.
Grades for the course will
be assigned according to the following standard:
A - 450+
AB - 430+
B - 390+
BC - 360+
C - 300+
D - 240+
F - 0+
