About Me
I am a second year graduate student at the University of Wisconsin
Madison. I previously
attended
Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin
where I majored in Mathematics and minored in Computer Science. As
part of my undergraduate experience, I participated in
the MASS
program at the Penn State in the fall of 2007.
Teaching
In the fall of 2008 I taught math 221 for Professor Isaacs, and in the
spring I taught math 222 for Professor Gomez. I am currently teaching
math 222 for Professor Isaacs. Click here for current course information.
Tutoring
I tutor for calculus, linear algebra, or abstract algebra.
Other
I am including here a few materials that I think others may find
useful, or just some papers and talks that I have given in the past.
-
This is a paper outlining a talk presented by myself and David
Dynerman at the University of Wisconsin Group Theory Seminar in the
Spring of 2009.
On a Theorem
of Frobenius: Solutions to x^n = 1 in Finite Groups

The next item I am including is not any sort of polished work- it is
my own collection of notes from the first semester graduate course in
algebra here at Madison, math 741. They are a little bit slopy, but
they closely parallel Marty Isaacs' Algebra: A Graduate
Course , as he is the one who taught the class. I used them
to help study for the algebra qualifying exam and I found them a nice
overview. I leave them here in case other graduate students would
like to use them for the same purpose. Just keep in mind that they
are far from perfect and were only originally meant for my eyes.

It was my observation while teaching first semester calculus that many students seemed to struggle with the concept of integration and
finding area between two curves. I put together a packet in the hopes
of clarifying the issue. Here is a link to this packet- hopefully you
find it helpful.
