Materials to be covered:
We will cover Chapters 7 (7.3, 7.4, 7.6), 8, 9 and 10 in Lial's book, and
Chapter 9 in the Supplement.
Grading:
The final grade will be determined by
two in class midterm exams (100 points each), the final exam
(200 points) and your grade in your discussion section (100 points).
The total score will be curved. The precise curve will not be determined
until after the final exam.
Exams:
There will be two in class midterm exams (will be announced
well in advance) and one final exam. "Make-up exams" cannot be given
except in the most unusual circumstances. The student seeking a make-up
exam should discuss with the instructor in advance and get the approval
before the exam. Calculators are allowed in the exams.
