Textbook:

Calculus with Applications, 7th Edition, by Lial, Greenwell and Ritchey;

Materials to be covered:

We will cover Chapters 7 (7.3, 7.4, 7.6), 8, 9, 10 and 12.

Grading:

The final grade will be determined by two in class midterm exams (100 points each), the final exam (200 points) and your grade in your discussion section (100 points). The total score will be curved. The precise curve will not be determined until after the final exam.

Exams:

There will be two in class midterm exams (will be announced well in advance) and one final exam. "Make-up exams" cannot be given except in the most unusual circumstances. The student seeking a make-up exam should discuss with the instructor in advance and get the approval before the exam. Calculators are allowed in the exams.

Homeworks:

Homeworks are necessary for learning the materials, and passing the quizzes and exams. Homeworks are assigned after each class. They should be completed although they are not graded.
