Subject to budgetary approval, there will be a Visiting Position in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in Spring 2008.
The position carries a teaching load of two courses, and pays a salary of $20,000 or a bit more for the semester. In addition, partial coverage of travel costs to and from Hawai'i is negotiable. The University's Faculty Housing apartments are about $550 a month and may be available.
The University is located in Honolulu, capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Hawai'i, two miles from Waikiki Beach. The Department (http://www.math.hawaii.edu) has several faculty members in logic and universal algebra - Ralph Freese, Bjørn Kjos-Hanssen, Bill Lampe, Dale Myers, J.B. Nation, and David Ross.
