Homework: Homework is every week in lecture, and will be due the following Monday in discussion. For example, the homework assigned 1/22 and 1/24 is due on 1/28. I will grade the homework based on completion, but will not correct all incorrect solutions. I will write comments beside a problem or two, so you can see if you did it right, but your grade will not be affected by this.

Quizzes: There will be weekly quizzes given every Wednesday at the beginning of class. My goal for the quizzes is to go beyond the homework, and to help prepare you for the types of questions that will be on the exam. So expect some of the quiz questions to be above and beyond the level of the homework questions. Each quiz will be worth 10 points. At the end of the semester, I will keep only your 10 highest quiz scores.

Participation: I will expect you to participate during the discussion session. Mostly I will be expecting you to answer questions that I ask, and ask me questions if you do not understand what I am doing on the board. Your participation grade will come from presenting at least 2 problems on the blackboard during the semester.

Grading: A total of 10% of your final grade will come from the discussion grade. The break down is as follows:

5% Quizzes

3% HW

2% Participation
