The goal of this course (as Beckmann says) is to help future elementary school teachers develop a deep understanding of the mathematics that they will teach. Attendance: Students are expected to attend every lecture. In fact, 20% of your grade will be based on attendance. Grading: There will be two 75 minute exams given in class, approximately the sixth and twelve-th week. The final exam will be at the assigned time and day: Final Sunday May 7 7:45-9:45am. In addition, for each day of class I will grade one problem from the assigned homework or I will give a short quiz based on the assigned homework. Note: assigned homework is always due in class exactly one week from the day it is assigned. We may also tryout doing group presentations from the class activities manual.
