No books, no calculators, no cell phones, no pagers, no electronic devices of any kind. However you can bring to the exam one 8 1/2" by 11" cheat sheet with anything you want written or printed on both sides. The exam will have 10-12 randomly chosen problems from the assigned homework. Approximately, 1/3 from new material and 2/3 from old material (i.e. sections covered by exams 1 and 2). %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Dear Professor/TA, The semester is drawing to a close, which means that many students will be seeking additional help in order to be prepared for their final exams. In an effort to provide students with this assistance, the GUTS Drop-In Program will be holding its Study Day. We would really appreciate if you could either announce the following in class, or send it out over email to your students. Thank you much for helping your students help themselves. On Saturday, May 7, from 2-8 PM on the second floor of Helen C. White Library, GUTS Tutorial will be holding its Study Day. Students with last-minute exam questions can stop by anytime to receive FREE tutoring in Math, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biology, French, and many other subjects. And if the free tutoring wasn't already enough, the Drop-In Program will also be providing food and drinks for tutors and tutees! For an updated schedule of what subjects are being tutored at what times, please see our webpage at http://guts.studentorg.wisc.edu, email us at guts-di@rso.wisc.edu, or stop by our office at 302A Union South. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Date: Tue, 3 May 2005 09:49:22 -0500 From: Berliner@math.wisc.edu To: faculty@math.wisc.edu Subject: Sidewalk Math Hello I am one of the Grad Student TA's in charge of organizing Sidewalk Math this year. Sidewalk Math is an opportunity for undergraduates to get a little extra help before finals, while enjoying the "nice" weather outside on the Van Vleck patio and sipping some free lemonade. We even have large easles and paper in place of chalkboards! This year, Sidewalk Math will be held Tues/Wed May 10 and 11 from Noon-4PM. Thank you very much!! Best, Adam %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Date: Mon, 2 May 2005 11:49:09 -0500 (CDT) From: Jaclyn Ann Anderson To: graduate@math.wisc.edu, faculty@math.wisc.edu Subject: MathLab is open during finals week Please announce to your students: MathLab will be open regular hours during finals week: Monday-Thursday 3:30-8:30 MathLab offers free drop-in tutoring for courses numbered 240 and below.
