A course in basic calculus including limits, deriviatives, and integrals. The philosophy of this course is to focus
on techniques for solving problems rather than on proofs. The list of topics are as follows:
- Methods of integration (integration-by-parts, partial fractions, trigonometric substitutions, improper integrals)
- Infinite series (convergence tests, Taylor series)
- Differential equations (first order linear, second order linear)
- Conic sections and polar coordinates
- Vectors and the geometry of space (vectors, dot product, cross product, planes)
- Vector valued functions and motion in space (vector functions, arclength, curvature, torsion, planetary motions)
