Workshop on Stochastic Networks
June 26 - 30, 2000
University
of Wisconsin - Madison
A Workshop on Stochastic Networks will be held June 26-30, 2000 in the Pyle Center on the University of Wisconsin - Madison campus. The workshop is directed at young researchers interested in developing research programs in the area. The program of the workshop will include lecture series by senior researchers and presentations by the participants. The lecture series will present overviews of important methodologies and/or applications which are currently active research areas. The lecture series will be present by
· François Baccelli, Ecole Normale Supérieure and INRIA, Modeling of flow control in stochastic networks
· Frank Kelly, Cambridge University, Network pricing and control
· Walter Willinger, AT&T Labs Research, Scaling phenomena and data network traffic
Presentations by participants will help encourage interaction and discussion and provide an opportunity for comments and advice from the senior researchers.
The workshop follows a Conference on Stochastic Networks, June 19-24, and will be part of the Summer Intern Program on Probability and Stochastic Processes which continues through August 11.
Application has been made for funding to support young researchers (graduate students and recent PhDs) attending the Conference and Workshop. Recent PhDs should also consider applying for Summer Intern Program which will focus on stochastic networks.
All Conference participants are welcome to attend the Workshop. The registration fee for the Workshop will be $50.
