ABOUT ME

(My name in Vietnamese: Từ Nguyễn Thái Sơn, people call me Son.)
I am a Ph.D. student at the Univesity of Wisconsin - Madison under the guidance of Professor Hung V. Tran. My main interest is Partial Differential Equations, particularly questions related to Hamilton-Jacobi equation. Here are some recent slides of my talks.
Vanishing discount problems for Hamilton–Jacobi equations on changing domains,
Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences, The University of Tokyo, October 2020.
State-constraint static Hamilton-Jacobi equation in nested domains,
PDE and Geometric Analysis seminar, University of Wisconsin - Madison, September 2019.

I am recently awarded the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award (Mathematics Department), I am a teaching assistant for Math 211 in the Fall 2020.

Publications and preprints

  1. Vanishing discount problems for Hamilton-Jacobi equations on changing domains,
    arXiv preprint (2020), submitted.
  2. (with Yeoneung Kim and Hung V. Tran) State-constraint static Hamilton-Jacobi equations in nested domains, arXiv preprint (2019), SIAM journal on Mathematical Analysis.
  3. Rate of convergence for periodic homogenization of convex Hamilton-Jacobi equations in one dimension, arXiv preprint (2018), Asymptotic Analysis.

In May 18-21, 2020, my advisor and I will organize a workshop in PDE, see madpde2020.
