Course Info:

This is the first of three math content courses for elementary and special education majors, focusing on numbers and operations.

Elementary Math For Teachers (With Singapore Math grade school books), Parker & Baldridge.

Grading

Your Math 130 grade will be determined out of 500 points. Specifically, there will be two midterms worth 100 points each, one final worth 150 points, homework worth 100 points, and classroom participation worth 50 points.

Midterm I: Monday, February 23, 5:00-6:30pm
Midterm II: Monday, March 23, 5:00-6:30pm
Final: Thursday, May 14, 5:05-7:05 pm, Social Science 5231

Technology Policy

Calculators, textbooks and notes are all extremely good tools for learning mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged to use these resources fully in order to learn the material. However, calculators are not allowed on exams for the same reasons that books and notes are not allowed on exams. Students are encouraged to use calculators while studying and doing the homework problems in the same way that textbooks help with studying and doing homework problems.
