My name is Christelle Vincent, and I am a sixth year graduate student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. I was born in Montréal, Canada, and I speak French and English fluently. In my free time I run, do yoga, meditate, cook and read books. If this is Ken reading this, in my free time I do math. Of course.
I spend my days doing math, more precisely number theory, under the supervision of Ken Ono. My work is on Drinfeld modular forms, which are the analogue in finite characteristic of modular forms, and Drinfeld modular curves, which are the analogue of the classical modular curves. More precisely, I am currently working on explicitly finding Weierstrass points on Drinfeld modular curves. I also spend a healthy amount of time thinking about classical modular forms.
I am fortunate enough that the Department of Mathematics is able to offer me a TAship every semester. I really enjoy teaching, and I spend quite a bit of time thinking about it. I always welcome questions or discussions about pedagogy. Right now my main focus is on the integration of technology in the classroom. I am very excited to be involved in designing the teaching methods of the future!
Finally, I would like to thank the Great State of Wisconsin, NSERC, and FQRNT for their financial support.
