Math 132: Problem Solving in Algebra, Probability and Statistics

Student Body: 

Open only to students in Education or by permission of Education Academic Services.

Background and Goals: 

This is the third of three math content courses for elementary and special education majors, focusing on probability, algebra and statistics.



Subsequent Courses: 


Course Content: 
  • Algebra, probability, and statistics for teachers of elementary school mathematics
  • Topics include proportions, relations, functions and their graphs, equally likely outcomes, expected value, and representation of data.
  • The emphasis is on problem solving, modeling, and analysis of solution strategies.

MATH 130 and 131 with grades of C or better. Open only to students classified as Elementary Education, Pre-Elementary Education, or Pre-Special Education.
