Provides a rigorous foundation for mathematical modeling of biological systems. The mathematical emphasis is on partial differential equations, particularly reaction-diffusion and transport equations. Biological applications include bacterial chemotaxis, spatio-temporal ecological dynamics, and cell-level reactions.
