Logic Qualifying Exams

There are three logic quals: Set Theory (S), Model Theory (M), and Computability Theory (C). Every qual is composed of 6 problems: 3 "E" problems (E for everybody) and 3 in your chosen area (S, M, or C).

Note the change in exam format at the beginning of 2014. Prior to that time, students were expected to do two E problems and two problems in the area of their qual. Starting in 2014, students are expected to solve all problems. The exams are written differently to accommodate this difference.
