"Applied mathematics, in partnership with computational science, is essential in solving many real-world problems." ---- SIAM

SIAM is Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. The mission of SIAM is to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology through our publications, research, and community.

Our SIAM student chapter at UW-Madison aims at generating interest in applied mathematics and computational science, bringing together graduate students from all applied sciences, and facillating a lively research and study environment.

This student chapter originates from Applied Graduate Seminar. We have evolved into the SIAM student chapter, which encourages the participation of not only the math graduate students, but also students from other departments!
