New NSF RTG grant awarded
The team of Jose Israel Rodriguez (PI), Jordan Ellenberg, Sebastien Roch, and Qin Li (all co-PIs) has just been awarded an NSF RTG grant, “Mathematics & AI Synergies (MAIS): Algebra and Applications.” Other members of the team are Amy Cochran, Hanbaek Lyu, Laurentiu Maxim, Chris Rycroft, and Botong Wang.
The RTG Mathematics & AI Synergies (MAIS): Algebra and Applications (2026–2031) is dedicated to training the next generation of mathematicians at the intersection of mathematics and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on algebra and its applications. Through research assistantships, reading groups, workshops, conferences, and seminars, the program supports undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers in developing both foundational knowledge and interdisciplinary research expertise.
